Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Announced for Nintendo 3DS
Announced during a recent Nintendo Direct livestream, Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is launching for Nintendo 3DS platforms on May 20th, 2017 in Australia.
Inspired by Fire Emblem Gaiden – which released exclusively for Japanese audiences in 1992 – Shadows of Valentia will bring free roaming exploration, dungeon crawling and flexible character progression to players outside of Japan for the first time. Amiibo figures of lead protagonists, Alm and Celica will be available as a two-pack alongside Shadows of Valentia’s launch. With all new assets built to utilise the 3DS hardware, Studio Khara – best known for their work on the Rebuild of Evangelion film series – will also be animating cutscenes for the remake.
Shadows of Valentia marks the second time the Fire Emblem series sees a remake launch to Western audiences following the 2008 DS release, Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon.
