Support the Roo Teeth Victorian team as they game around the clock for charity!
The management team at Sticky Trigger are big supporters of charities and also Aussie gamers, so when one of our writers (Sean) approached us about helping spread the word Extra-Life.org and the Roo Teeth team from Victoria, we couldn’t say no!
First things first…. Who are ‘Roo Teeth’?
Roo Teeth is an Australian Fan Association, sponsored by Hanabee and run by and for Rooster Teeth fans in Australia. Roo Teeth is an Australian Fan Association, sponsored by Hanabee and run by and for Rooster Teeth fans in Australia. Roo Teeth was established in February 2011, after the immediate success of it’s very first Australian Rooster Teeth Street Team (ARTST).
What is Extra-Life?
Extra-Life is a charity which was set up in 2008 by a group of gamers following the tragic death of a young girl named Victoria after she lost her battle against acute lymphoblastic leukemia – an incredibly aggressive form of cancer.
Formed by Sarcastic Gamer members, they created a 24 hour gaming marathon which would raise over $302,000 between 2008 and 2009 for the hospital that treated Victoria (Texas Childrens Hospital).
Since then, thousands of gamers have jumped on board in support of their local hospitals that are part of the Children’s Miracle Network. 100% of the donations received go straight to the hospital for the kids in need!
How can you help?
From 7am on October 18th, the crew from Roo Teeth Victoria (as well as the New South Wales crew) will be planting their bottoms in a seat for 24 hours and playing games, all for the kids! The Roo Teeth crew has already raised over $3500, with their next goal being $5000! To show your support, any donation small or large will be greatly appreciated and remember… 100% of ALL money raised goes straight to the kids! Donations can be made here.
The Roo Teeth crew will also be streaming the event live. Check them out here!
Our own Sean will be hanging out with Roo Teeth crew for the entire 24 hours and live tweeting from the event. Join in on the conversation on Twitter by following @rooteethcares, @rooteeth and @sticky_trigger. Join in on the conversation by using #RTvExtralife2014 #ForTheKids and #ExtraLife!
On behalf of the Roo Teeth crew and Extra-Life.org, we thank you for any donations you may make! Remember, it’s ALL #ForTheKids
Ps… Sean, we hope you packed some energy drinks and your jammies! :p
