Sony Has Sold Over 30 Million PlayStation 4 Units
As of November 22nd, Sony has reported that in just over 2 years, the PlayStation 4 has now sold over 30.2 million consoles.
Following their press release, President and Global CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Andre House wrote a very thankful message on behalf of the company, expressing his appreciation towards to the players.
“We are sincerely grateful that gamers across the globe have continued to choose PS4 as the best place to play since launch two years ago,” House wrote. “”We are committed to bringing engaging games and entertainment services to users worldwide. Thanks to the support of our partners, PS4 continues to be the premier platform for game and interactive entertainment innovation.”
In comparison with Sony’s predecessor PlayStation 2 console, it is said that the console is selling at an incredibly fast rate. As reported from Forbes, this is very impressive, especially considering that the PlayStation 2 is regarded as one of Sony’s best selling consoles to this date.
This new sales number also shows just how popular the console remains within the market. Whilst the comparison report for their third quarter is a little ambiguous – the amount of PlayStation 4 sales is almost doubled in the amount of Xbox One worldwide shipments.
