Pokémon Video Game and Trading Card Game National Championships to be in Melbourne This Long Weekend
This long weekend will see the Pokémon Video Game and Trading Card Game National Championships taking place in Melbourne.
Located at the Melbourne Park Function Centre at Batman Avenue, Pokémon Trainers of the digital and card varieties will be able to compete for championship points that can allow for competitors to be invited to the Pokémon World Championships, which will be held in Boston, U.S. later this year.
Anyone can compete, despite the fact that the Regional Championships have already taken place earlier this year.
Saturday the 6th will see qualifying rounds for the Trading Card Game Championships with pre-registration from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM, and competition beginning from 10:00 AM, and pre-registration for the Video Game Championships from 12:30 PM to 6:00 PM. Sunday the 7th will see more pre-registration time from 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM and qualifying rounds for the Video Game Championships from 10:00AM to 10:00PM. Monday the 8th will be when the finals for both the Trading Card Game and the Video Game Championships take place starting from 10:00 AM.
Anyone in attendance can also download a special Pachirisu based off last year’s World Championships Masters Division winner Se Jun Park’s very own Pachirisu to Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire game cartridges.
Entry is free for both competitors and spectators, and other activities will be occurring alongside the competition, such as Pokémon Trivia, Face-painting, colouring-in competitions and mini tournaments. For Pokémon fans young and old, there couldn’t be a better way to spend the long weekend with battles, trades, or even making new friends.
