Pokémon Sun and Moon Details Revealed: The Region, New Pokémon, and a Release Date
The Pokémon Company International has revealed some new information regarding the latest games in the Pokémon franchise, Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon, regarding the region the game is set in, new Pokémon, and a release date.
On Tuesday evening, The Pokémon Company International released a video to its YouTube account. In the video, a character Kukui talks to presumably a player, stating that the region is the Alola region. It is likely that this region is based on the real world location of Hawaii, due to Alola being similar to the Hawaiian word aloha, which has been used when greeting and departing.
Also in the video are five new Pokémon – the three new starter Pokémon as well as the Pokémon on the cover for both Sun and Moon.
The starter Pokémon are Rowlet the grass and flying type Grass Quill Pokémon, Litten the fire type Fire Cat Pokémon, and Popplio the water type Sea Lion Pokémon.
The video concludes with two Pokémon being featured that also appear on the box art of Sun and Moon. No information about these two legendary Pokémon was revealed at this time.
At the end of the video, the release date is revealed to the 18th of November, this year. This sees Australia, the US and Japan sharing a release date, while those in Europe will have to wait five days with a release date of the 23rd of November.
