Pokémon Fighting Game 'Pokkén Tournament' Announced
Last night The Pokémon Company announced Pokkén Tournament, an arcade fighter described to be a collaboration from Pokémon and the Bandai Namco developed TEKKEN.
Announced on the Japanese video site Niconico, Pokkén Tournament was slated for a 2015 release for arcades in Japan, with no word if Pokkén Tournament will be released for the Wii U or Nintendo 3DS, or if Pokkén Tournament will see an international release.
The trademark Pokkén Tournament was claimed in December 2013, and previously unannounced footage of Pokkén Tournament was teased at the Pokémon Game Show in Japan of August 2013.
This isn’t the first time Bandai Namco have been working with intellectual property that first appeared on Nintendo hardware; this year will see Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, which have been aided in development by Bandai Namco.
Bandai Namco have also collaborated with Nintendo in the past with theMario Kart Arcade franchise, arcade exclusive kart racing games.
