Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice Coming This September
Capcom announced on Thursday that the sixth instalment in the Ace Attorney series will be released this September.
Titled Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice, Phoenix travels to the kingdom of Khura’in, where the series’ Kurain Challenging Techniques comes from. In Khura’in, there are no defence attornies, and courtrooms are dictated by séance trials through the new Séance Sight gameplay mechanic, which reveals the dying moments of the victim from their perspective. While Phoenix is in Khura’in, Apollo Justice is working back at the Wright Anything Agency and taking cases.
Aside from Séance Sight, returning gameplay mechanics include the Mood Matrix and revisualisation critical deduction. Gameplay can also be made harder with an option to turn off hints.
This will be the closest a title in the Phoenix Wright franchise will be localised in comparison to its Japanese counterpart. The first title, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney was released in Japan for the Game Boy Advanced in 2001, and in Australia for the Nintendo DS in 2009.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice will be released in September in the U.S. and Europe on the Nintendo 3DS as a digital title exclusively through the eShop. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice however will only have a difference of three months between Japanese and Western release.
