Batman: Return To Arkham Collection Releasing This July
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment announced on Wednesday that Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City will be remastered for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as the upcoming Batman: Return to Arkham this July.
Both games, originally released on the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, will contain both games’ Game of the Year additional content, as well as all downloadable content. Both games will also feature updated graphics, models, environments, lighting, effects and shaders. Both games will also use Unreal Engine 4 as the in-game engine, as opposed to Unreal Engine 3, the original in-game engine of both games.
The Batman: Arkham franchise began in 2009 with Batman: Arkham Asylum, which sees the titular hero enter the Arkham Asylum and is locked in with Gotham’s villains, thanks to the Joker. In 2011, the sequel Batman: Arkham City was released, where the Asylum has been expanded to encompass a whole city, and Batman is imprisoned there by its warden, Hugo Strange.
Batman: Return to Arkham will be released on the 27th of July for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and will be available exclusively at EB Games.
