Australian Pokémon Events Incoming!
Australian Pokémon Trainers better get their Pokéballs ready, because Nintendo of Australia and the International Pokémon Company have announced dates for the Video Game Regional Championships and Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions.
The Pokémon Video Game Regional Championships will be occurring in Brisbane on Saturday the 11th of April at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, and in Sydney on Saturday the 18th of April at Paddington Town Hall, with registration opening from 9:00am and closing at 10:00AM. The rules for the 2015 Pokémon Video Game Championships allow for only the use of Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, with all the Pokémon available in the games to be used in a battle of four against four in a Double Battle. UPDATE: Further dates and locations have been announced! In Perth on Saturday the 26th of April at the Perth Arena, in Melbourne on Sunday the 3rd of May at Collingwood Town Hall, Collingwood, in Auckland, New Zealand on Saturday the 9th of May at the Aeotea Centre, and in Adelaide on Saturday the 16th of May at The Ellington, Hackney.
For those with a fine ear, Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions will be stopping by the Sydney Opera House on the 20th and 21st of November. This travelling concert will have made its way all over North America and will be making a surprise stop in Sydney, Australia! Accompanied by a video display of footage from the main series of Pokémon games, Pokémon fans can come and listen to music that formed childhoods, spanning from the late 90’s with Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue all the way through to Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. While you visit, you may as well battle, trade, and just talk with fellow trainers. Tickets for Pokémon: Symphonic Evolutions will go on pre-sale early May.
